Anthony's Very Basic Wargaming Blog

It's Something! Also, Ships.

Welcome to this blog.

As you may or may not know, I am currently exiled from my hobby space while my house is being renovated. So, I have a minimal setup in an extra room in the house we are renting. This means I don't have my airbrush stuff with me (consisting of my trusty Iwata and massive fucking compressor), but after watching a YouTuber tell me this little compressor/airbrush combo was decent, I bought it since I have little impulse control. As a result, I present the following:

This is the mighty GTS-06 Serenair Mini Air Compressor + Airbrush and I have been quite happy with it, although I have only used it for priming (hate dem rattlecans, and my lungs). The compressor vibrates quite a bit but should be OK on a solid desk, which I do not have, so I put it in my lap as not to annoy the neighbours(?). The airbrush itself is decent enough. I think it's fine for priming/basecoating/zenithalizing but I won't be painting any eyeballs with it.

That was my review. I think it was around $120 for the kit.

So now you are wondering, what did you paint with it? Smart.

Most of my (greatly reduced) stuff is in a locker in Etobicoke (silent k). So, lacking many wargaming projects on hand I bought a Black Seas starter set. It's a very cool game that nobody plays so I will be painting some ships to do a scenario for anyone who also like sails and cannon balls. Here is a picture of some primed brigs!

I don't like the paper sails the models come with but I found some 3D printable ones that Alex will be printing for me (thanks). I will also be building two 5th Rate frigates and three merchant ships. More to come when I start painting! Should be a simple basecoat/wash/highlight jobby.

Good day.
